The Maclean showground is a great camping spot right on the Clarence River and it is located on a short 800 metre walk into the CBD.
Offering a maximum of 10 campsites, for a three night stays, but it is first in first served bases as you are not able to book your sites. There are designated areas to park with some sites along the river bank, and the rest around the main ring. The sites are all grassed and reasonably flat.
Minimal facilities with toilets and no showers, but they do have a dump point. Pets are permitted on a leash.
Since there are limited sites available it is best to call ahead to check availability.
