My husband and I went on the Uluru, Kata Tjuta & Kings Canyon tour in early September 2021. Our guide was Robert (Robbie) and we were very impressed by his enthusiasm, passion, knowledge and consideration of each individual in his care. Robert put our safety first above all else in every situation; he didn’t rush us and he was always trying to make the trip our best experience possible - thank you Robert. We loved all the Spring wildflowers, Aboriginal art and culture, and the magnificent colours and rock shapes. The food on the trip was great and it was a wonderful experience.

We had a great time on our safari which was packed with all the sights and tours needed in the red centre including our very own informative guide Robert. Robert was so passionate about the culture that it was a joy to learn from him and his many interesting stories. Robert also ensured that we enjoyed all the walks at our own pace which were all amazing and provided us with delicious snacks and meals to keep up our energy. We highly recommend Wayoutback Tours and if you're lucky you might get Robert as your guide.

I can’t believe my husband and I were lucky enough to go on the 4 Day/3 night Perentie Dreaming Safari 1-4 September. Our guide was Robbie - and I have to start my review with him because he made the tour. His knowledge and respect of country, his positivity and genuineness, his ability to roll with the punches and make sure we were comfortable and well fed, ensuring we all experienced a holiday of our dreams, his energetic and engaging stories, making sure we did the walks at our own pace, his sense of humour - were all amazing. Robbie is a legend. What an asset to Wayoutback Tours. This was a trip of a lifetime. Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon were spectacular. The food was way better than expected and heaps of it. We had wine provided and the best damper ever!! The on-site Tents were comfortable and views spectacular. Even collecting firewood was fun :) The bus was really comfortable (I suffer sciatica and was worried about sitting for long periods but it was so fine). And Robbie had a great playlist for the drives :) Honestly can’t fault the trip. Planning to do Kakadu with Wayoutback Tours next.

It was a great way to see the sights in the area in a short time. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guides Suzie & Robbie (and trainee Alex) made it interesting, educational, and a lot of fun. Food supplied was great and plentiful. We were lucky this tour went ahead with lower than usual numbers as most other operators had cancelled their tours. However having so few people at all the attractions was great!

Just had the best time on this tour with Wayoutback Safaris plus an additional 2 days in Alice Springs pre-tour....my trip was organised via a third party namely Trip a Deal. With constantly changing border restrictions due to the ongoing Covid situation I was unsure if this trip would actually go ahead but luckily we had the required minimum number of 6 persons onboard. Our group dynamic was very good with everybody helping out where necessary and enjoying themselves. Our driver and guide Phill and his assistant Alexis from France really made this trip as far as I'm concerned and went out of their way to make sure everything ran as smoothly as possible. Two really nice, salt of the earth blokes who worked well as a team and were very professional and knew their stuff. The days were long as expected and what we did and saw was as per the itinerary and well paced. The camp sites, meals, sightseeing and hike were all very good....in hindsight the fact we had such a small group was definitely to our advantage. A trip I learned a lot from and would definitely recommend with many highlights.

This trip was a birthday present to myself and what a magical way to spend a few days in the Red Centre. You will experience Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Watarrka, all amazing in their own ways. I joined the group as a solo traveller, but left with friends, helped by the pitch in approach on the trip, whether that be some food prep, washing up or collecting firewood. The food was delicious and plentiful, especially the evening meals that are were prepared by our awesome guides. The damper cake for a fellow travellers birthday was a lovely (and yummy) touch! In terms of the accommodation, it was comfy in beds in the permanent tents.  The option to sleep in a swag was given to us, but none of us were game to try in late May when it was quite chilly at night.  Make sure to have a shower at Kings Creek station with the curtain open so you can shower with the stars. The stars there are amazing! Apart from my fellow travellers, what made the trip were our fabulous guides. If you're lucky enough to have Rob and Holly as your guides, you're in for a treat. They worked tirelessly throughout the trip and adpated to a mix of ages and fitness levels in our group, giving us options to suit at both Kata Tjuta and Watarrka. Rob's knowledge and passion for indigenous people, their traditions and culture really shone through on the trip. Made even more impressive by the fact that he's originally from Germany. This was Holly's first trip guiding the Red Centre, and she was super personable, eager to learn and did a great job. Highly recommend Wayoutback. Even considering doing one of their tours in and around Kakadu and will obviously be requesting Rob and Holly as guides.

So many unforgettable sights are included in this tour but we never felt rushed. Our guides Rob and Keygan were enthusiastic and really knowledgable, and were able to adapt to the needs of our group. The walks are spectacular - we would definitely recommend the longer walk at Kata Tjuta and the rim walk at Kings Canyon. Rob kept the group energised and feeling safe at all times - even in quite a mixed ability group. The food and nightly camp fires were awesome - we were offered/ encouraged to sleep in a swag under the stars for 2 of the nights and would 100% recommend this. This is a trip where you have to be willing to camp (although in huts if you want) and to muck in and help out - nothing too strenuous but maybe a bit of washing up or sweeping up! This was right up our street and would definitely do a similar tour in the future. Thanks to Rob and Keygan for a great experience!

Great trip, the sights were as expected just amazing. The sights were made better by the commentary from our guide Rob. He is from Germany but his knowledge of aboriginal culture and life in the outback is second to none. The meals were worthy of a 5 star restaurant but we got to eat them under a million stars. The night sky is full of stars. The tented camp is interesting and worth giving it a go, its not glamping but its not slumming it either. Rob’s trainee assistant Holly was also very helpful and so keen to learn. The trip was so good that a group of 11 (13 if you add in Rob and Holly) arrived in Central Australia as complete strangers but we all left as great friends.
